Hey Homies!

I’m Amanda!

I’ve been obese as long as I can remember, and I’ve done a LOT of diets. I spent over a decade losing weight and gaining it all back. In 2011, I hit my lowest point. I was binge eating to the point of pain every night and hiding the trash from my husband so he wouldn’t know my shame. Every day was a “diet starts tomorrow” mentality. But every tomorrow would be more of the same … hitting up multiple drive thru-s at once and hating myself. 

In January 2012, I made a New Year’s resolution to stop dieting and to start making the best decision in every moment. I resolved to just do the best I could, to stop forcing myself to eat vegetables I hated, and to stop paying for gym memberships I’d never use. Slow steps, small goals, and a lot of determination helped me to lose over 100 pounds and keep it off.

I won’t lie. It wasn’t easy. There’s a lot more to this process than just “eat less and move more.” And there’s no “right” way to do it. It’s all about learning what works best for you.

I want to share a realistic look at this journey and provide helpful tools so everyone can thrive. Meal prepping has been a HUGE part of my success. Podcasts have been in my ear since day one. Finding exercises that I actually enjoy, and asking for help when I need it, have all made it possible.

I feel like so much of my own journey was spent alone. My goal is to make sure that no one else has to feel that way. If you feel like this process bites, I’m here to help it suck a little less.
